Discover the Power of Renewal: Reconnecting with God

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” Isaiah 40:31

What does it mean to renew our strength? Renew means to restore or resume after an interruption. Renewal is a powerful process that allows us to restore and resume our relationship with God, even after face interruptions or distraction in life. Without a doubt, we will all face interruptions-life circumstances or situations that cause us to become distant from God.

How to overcome the interruption? How do we restore our relationship with him? How do we become renewed in His word? Always remember, regardless of what we have done, where we have been, or our current circumstances; God has never left our side. All it takes is a simple prayer to reconnect with him.

“Heavenly Father, I invite you into my heart and my life. There has been a disconnect, and I have been distant from you, but have never forgotten about your goodness, grace, and mercy. Thank you for never leaving or forsaking me. I come to you today to reestablish our relationship. And pray you will forgive me for my sins and come into my heart. Amen,”

Through heartfelt repentance and acknowledging His goodness, grace, and mercy, we can experience the renewal of our connection with God. Start be renewing our minds. Our mind is the control center for the bodies, influencing our thoughts, emotions, and actions. To protect our minds from negative influences, we should “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2 The thoughts of the enemy become burdens. The devil plant seeds of deception and doubt which will eventually affect our mood and actions. Whenever we encounter thoughts that don’t align with God’s words, we must redirect them. “But be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans12:2 Thoughts of the mind influence our heart posture, attitude, and behavior. This renewal of the mind helps us stay focused on pleasing God, guarding against distractions, and living according to His purpose for our lives

As our minds are renewed, our hearts follow suit. A cluttered heart leaves little space for God, hindering His presence from dwelling within us. “Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me” Psalms 51:10. Praying for a clean heart and inviting God to renew our spirit allows us to create room for Him. A clean heart reflects the posture of our spirit and enables us to serve God better. When our hearts are at peace, His presences radiate through us, proclaiming that we are children of God.

Faith in God is the source of strength and a key element in overcoming obstacles. Even when our faith wavers, we can cry out to God and ask Him to increase our faith. Trusting in Him, regardless of how things may appear; enables us to conquer challenges and experiences His faithfulness. By renewing our faith daily, we tap into strength found in God and His Word.

Renewal is an ongoing process that requires daily commitment. By seeking God first each day, we prayer, reading His word, or engaging in worship, the method of renewing our relationship may vary. As we work on renewing ourselves daily, we find our strength in him and his word; therefore, we should seek him first at the beginning of each day. He will provide the strength needed to handle any obstacle. However, the one constant factor is staying in communion with God, fostering a deep and intimate connection with Him. By renewal our minds, hearts, and faith, we unlock the strength and guidance necessary to navigate life’s challenges. Staying in communion with Him through prayer, we can experience the transformative power of renewal and deepen our relationship with God.
